How to play
Build your robot, attack other robots, survive to the end
MEK'NOIDS™ is a card-based science fiction game featuring battling robots. Players each first choose a robot frame and them customize the robots. The game changes quickly as play is simultaneous across all players. In games with several players, coalitions form and break up as weaker robots gang up on the stronger ones, or on each other. Additionally, players can use of a vortex generator to change the terrain (and the state of the game), as different weapons are more effective on different terrains. If all else fails, you can always equip your robot with a bag of rocks. Throwing rocks always works, but with minimal damage. It is a sign of desperation. The weaker robots are reduced to throwing rocks until eliminated by a quantum chainsaw or Tesla cannon.
Step 1: Build your robot
1. A game consists of simultaneous turns. First your decide on the build point (BP) budget players are allowed to build their robots for the game.
2. Second players choose robot frames for their MEK´NOIDS™. These are the “robot frame” cards.
3. Third players add devices and weapons to the robot frames. These are cards.
4. Finally players add protection to their robots, in the form of shields and armour. These are cards.
Step 2: Attack other robots
5. A dice is rolled to determine the terrane where the first turn takes place.
6. All players point at the robot they will attack with their pointer card.
7. All attacks are executed at the same time. New damage applies at the start of the next turn. Damage is applied using damage cards. WIth excess damage, weapons, shields, and ultimately the robot frames fail.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until only one remains.
